It's almost - completely impossible to have both have an uncrackable software that wouldn't negatively impact everyone using it. Sure, they theoretically could for example implement a mandatory fingerprint scanner on any PC that'd have to verify the fingerprint online every 10 days and require you to actually purchase a key at a store and give them your fingerprint to use later as a verification method, but this idea would be horrible and significantly reduce the usability of the OS. Maybe they could delay it by like a day - to a week each time, and then it would just be a consistent waste of money in the most useless way possible with literally nothing to gain. Windows is probably like one of the most widely used software with massive amounts of users, and ofc that means there's a hell of a lot of people who would definitely try to crack it. TBH it's likely due to financial reasons, because there's nothing to gain from trying to combat it, but it would actually significantly cost them more to make the process slightly more difficult.
